~Hubby has been off for 4 days, It has been WONDERFUL!
~I’ve been told not to get used to it
~He goes back to working 7 days a week….. tomorrow
~The kids and I feel sad, we miss him OODLES.
~I’ve learned how to make a sour dough starter from scratch
~I’ve learned how to make sour dough bread too
~We discovered that sour dough bread has an aftertaste similar to vomiting in the back of one’s throat….Eeww.
~Nobody likes the sour dough, yet Hubby wants me to try to tweak the recipe till we get something that works
~That will take a serious amount of tweaking!
~I’ve found a yummy Honey Wheat Bread recipe
~I’ve also got a killer Braided Garlic loaf with garlic-butter dipping sauce…YUM!
~I’ve read up on raising Bunnies, only to realize that they will probably not do well in the hot climate of Florida
~Now I’m reading up on raising Chickens
~I like bunnies better, they aren’t noisy, the Imp wants a pet bunny
~I’m also reading up on gardening
~I always swore I would not have a garden
~Now it seems necessary
~I can’t explain why
~I don’t want to garden, but I am going to learn and do it anyways
~House hunting was fun at first…..now it is not as much fun
~The “perfect house” was found! It is above what we want to spend, thus posing the question……Is it the perfect house?
~We are looking for another perfect house, but it feels like we are settling or lowering our expectations

Two and a half months sounded like a very long time…..in theory. We found our current house in less than 4 days and we just KNEW, the minute we walked through the doors. Now that we are actually house hunting, the looming deadline (to be out of our rental house) seems to be approaching much too quickly! We have driven past houses in every corner of the county and possibly 2 others. We’ve walked through both rentals and purchase properties… perused golf course homes, repossessions, farms, and a strange fortress. I’m getting Design on a Dime visions, every time we go through a foreclosure house……Hubby does not share the vision….he sees a vortex of time and cash that will consume us. Ahh, balance….it’s probably a good thing! The farm houses appeal to me for homesteading purposes. The home owner associations and gated communities give me hives. We have not had that epiphany moment of, “Yes! This is home!” yet. Our “possible yes” folder contains one house that is too much money. We would have to negotiate. We don’t like to negotiate with grandfatherly men that build houses by hand and pour love and memories into every detail…..but market value says that no matter how many babies he raised in his farm house, it isn’t worth what he hopes to get. The tanking market places his home a lot lower, it makes us feel sad for him.

I have been dealing with real estate agents on a daily basis. I have mastered the art of tactfully declining their persistent offers and attempts to become our buyers agent. I have decided I don’t trust most of them. My sleeping hours are plagued with houses, walk-throughs, numerous agents, and kindly farm house owners that hope to finance their retirement years.

Hubby is taking off 4 days in which we plan to find someplace to start the paperwork on. We both keep hoping that it will have a mountain behind it and be located in Colorado……. that doesn’t seem likely at this point, so we continue to search for “THE” house here in Florida.
