Zoo Trip

25 September 2007

We had a wonderful week fellowshipping with our guests. On one of the days we trooped around our local zoo and watched a Wildlife Show. After the show, the speaker allowed the children to get up close and personal with some of the show critters. This was a HUGE hit and they all got in on the fun.

Here’s the Gremlin with a parrot that weighed more than he expected.

The Imp wanted to take the cotton topped tamarind home, he made the cutest little noises!

The Sarge was the brave one of the bunch, and he handled the constrictor like a pro.

Rambling post

13 September 2007

We’re still alive, we’ve just been passing a cold around, trying to find our niche for this year’s home schooling, making some breakthroughs with schooling schedules, and getting ready for our first wave of guests. YAY!

Don’t feel forgotten, all my “in real life” friends are wondering if we fell off the planet too. I’ve started research for several different posts, but haven’t been able to pull them together yet. I’ll be back soon, when I am not in a fog from my cold medicine, and my children have settled into their new routines.

Right now, I’m reading through a book, Home Schooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit. For anyone that knows me, I am neither meek, nor quiet…….EVER. I like the book so far, but it has been convicting.

I’ve also been doing some research on Calvinism, Creationism, and Apologetics. You know, a little light reading while my head is throbbing from sinus pressure and my vision is swimming across the page. I hope that the notes I’ve jotted make at least some sense when my head clears again. (At least in my illness stupor, it all seems very profound!)
